We started with First Grade and are adding a grade each year
After community meetings and research, in November 2024 we decided that the inaugural class in 2025 would be first grade! Traditionally, the class is “carried by” or taught by that teacher from first grade through eighth grade. We are adding a grade each year, so the 2025-2026 first grade class is the eldest class and the first to graduate from Mighty Oaks School in 2033.
Consider our schedule:
In all that we do, we strive to provide great care to childhood and the developmental stage children are at. Because of this, the First Grade has a weekly schedule that is at a different pace than a usual First Grade class. Each year we add a full day of school.
FIRST GRADE:
Mondays: Parent & Child Enrichment at local parks (done as a group)
Tuesdays, Wednesdays, & Thursdays: Full school days in person learning at Mighty Oaks School
Fridays: Mini morning lesson (virtually, 30 minute maximum).
The school year begins after Labor Day and ends June 11. Other than those instances, our calendar coincides with Clarkston Community Schools.
SECOND GRADE:
Mondays - Thursdays: Full school days in person learning at Mighty Oaks School
Fridays: Mini morning lesson (virtually, 30 minute maximum).
Our Admissions Process
Step 1: INQUIRY
Fill out the Contact Us form below and share in the message your child’s educational history, what your family values, and what you and your family’s history with Waldorf is.
Step 2: INTERVIEW
We’ll reach out to schedule a phone call to discuss your answers and share about our school. During this call, we will setup a tour of the school for parent(s) only.
Step 3: TOUR
Tour of the school for parent(s) only
Step 4: ENROLLMENT FORM
We’ll email you the enrollment form, which includes a non-refundable enrollment fee of $75
Step 5: VISIT
Your child will visit the classroom for 3 consecutive days.
Step 6: RIGHT FIT
At the conclusion of your child’s visit in the classroom, we’ll have a final meeting to discuss your experience, your child’s and the teachers. It’s valuable that both your family and the teacher see a good fit.
